Rattling Focus Cayo
I've got a 2008 Focus Cayo with Ultegra bits on it and very pleased with it I am too. Unfortunately it seems to have developed a loud rattle. This happens when the chain is on the smaller sprockets (prob the smallest 5) and on both chain rings. It sounds like the chain rattling if anything.
I've searched the forums for solutions - the internal routing of the rear brake cable has been mentioned, but not sure why this would only rattle in the gears mentioned.
It has a new chain, everything works perfectly, there are no loose spokes, the ride feels smooth and stable as ever.
I took it to the local bike shop, but no suggestions from them, despite borrowing it for the weekend.
Any ideas anyone?

It's not the black clips that hold the cables to the frame is it? Mine have come loose at the frame and rattle. They just need gluing in again.0

This won't help any but I once had a rattle that I could not find, after stopping at least 3 times on my ride to check everything I remembered i had my house key in my shirt pocket  .0

Mine rattles and it's caused by the internal cable routing. Doesn't do it all the time.
To see if it is this, ride along and when the rattle starts grab the rear cable outer and pull it to put some tension on it - if the rattle stops it's the cable and if it doesn't then it's back to the drawing board. It doesn't get any easier, but I don't appear to be getting any faster.0
