Hi, I have a Hewitt bike which I am trying to look more retro. At present I have an Ultegra crankset with a Hollowtech II bottom bracket. I want to change the crankset for a Sugino Alpina crankset which uses a square tapered shaft. How do I know what length of bottom bracket to buy? Thanks !

Most likely 68mm - easy enough to measure.

68mm is the shell but as far as the axle length is concerned, that depends on the chainset. Most probably 110mm but check with the chainset manufacturer.

[It's fashion over function though  , the HT2 will be stiffer]
