Ridgeback 602EX SIS Crankset

Hi
A bit retro (!), but I've just inherited a 602EX SIS and it looks like the crank etc (Exage 300LX) needs replacing - is this a relatively straightforward thing to do and what would be a cost-effective (cheap!) replacement? Not sure if it would make any difference, but I'd mainly look to be doing off-road stuff, with maybe some winter road riding from time to time.....
Cheers

You need to know the length of the bottom bracket axle, then buy a square taper chainset that takes that axle and length.0

Thanks
Sorry for the nooby question, but does bottom bracket axle mean the same as spindle?
If so, it's 121mm and square taper according to Sheldon Brown - would I need to get a chainset/crank exactly the same as is on there?0 -
Yes, spindle/axle lol. Some chainsets use a 113 axle - others 127: it is to give the correct chainline. So you need to be 121 or very very close.
Or replace the BB at the same time.0 -

Will have a look around and a ponder...0
