Is there anyone out there who owns and rides a Cube stereo?? Please please give me some feedback on your experience! It appears to be right on the money with superior build quality

hi I looked at the stereo when I bought my cube ams 125 xt, looks a great bike but I went for the 125 because it seemed more suited to my riding more cross country. The 125 is a great bike good frame and finishing kit for the money. So no doubt the stereo will be fab too.0

Took delivery of my Cube Stereo the One about three weeks ago, having test ridden the 2008 model just after Christmas.
I used to have an upgraded Giant Trance 4 and decided that it was time for an upgraded bike and just loved the Stereo. I live in Innerleithen so my weekly ride is Inners XC and also ride some of the natural trails and Glentress, the Cube climbs superbly and with the Pro Pedal Set and front forks locked out it feels like climbing on a hardtail. Then turn off the Pro pedal open up the front forks and soften the rebound and descending is a real joy. It has given me loads more confidence riding down and with drop offs but also the build quality and spec is superb compared to other bikes of that price. I still dont see a huge number of the them around either, but I am sure that is going to change.
I can personnally recommend it. I also last Summer bought a Cube Ltd Race HT as a change to my Spesh Rockhopper Pro Disc, so have to say I am a bit of a fan. My advice is get one!Cube Ltd

I've got an 08 Stereo K18, and I love it to bits even if I can't ride it at the moment. I got mine on a cheap deal and for the price the spec was/is outstanding and it rides really well both climbing and descending.
The only problems I've found with it are the saddle is horrible (Fizik Nizene), the bars aren't my cup of tea and will be changed for higher rise ones when funds allow and I don't really like the Fat Albert tyres. Otherwise I don't think I could have got a better bike for me, also I got the Milky Green one and it looks brilliant0 -
Thanks for feedback.
I really like the Lapierre zesty 514 but at £400 more I cant see that much more quality for the money.Enduro- YT Capra AL1- 2016

I think if you're spending that much coin you need to try it out. I was lucky in that my LBS had one in stock and needed to get rid to make space, last years was a lot cheaper anyway but I got it for just over £1100 which was a total steal.0

Out of interest how dirty does the rear shock get? It looks very exposed back there! Is it an issue?
I'm not criticising or questioning it's position - I think the Stereo is a very nice looking bike and one I have been contemplating testing in the near future - this is just one of those questions that only someone who has had one long term can answer
Thanks

How is the bike on flat surface?0

Mine came with a small plastic mud deflector which covers the rear shock. To be honest it doesn't get particularly muddy at all and I've ridden it in some really boggy conditions.
I was concerned about it initially myself and was going to buy a shock boot, but it doesn't need one.0 -
reference the shock, This is something that I was concerned about. After long discussion with the dealer, basically said that its not an issue all bearings are sealed in the shock and a guard is in place to offer protection.
There's no way Cube would have went into production with this design had it been flawed! they are extremely fussy about the bikes so much so the white K18 has been recalled for modifications to paint job as there was an 8mm scratch somewhere on the bikes..
It is a very well put together piece of kit, lets face it with German manufacturing pedigree, its gonna be of extremely high spec!!Enduro- YT Capra AL1- 2016
