new bike

i am new to road bikes and have around £800.00 to spend ,i have been advised on several bike that include the Pinarello fp1 ,cube peleton and a welier escape mirage ,but know i need to ask the fountains of all knowledge ...yourselves ...is there a better bike i could choose?????

I think your best bet is to read through the 'what road bike?' thread in the buying advice forum as this question gets asked several times a week!

All three of those bikes are fine, my best advice, especially if you are new to it all, is to go to your local bike shops, see what they sell and try them out, see what you like, what fits and what suits your needs. A helpful shop is worth far more than a few quid off a bike bought online...

I think the Peloton actually costs about a grand this year (£700 last year!) although you'll get a 2009 Cube Aerial (same frame) with Tiagra for about £750. I didn't think Pinarello did anything under a thousand either.
I'd say look at Focus (which you can only get through Wiggle) Boardman (still great value despite Halfords tie in ) or (my fave) Canondale Caad9.....

I checked and Evans offer the FP1 for £1249 - with Sora groupset!
I think this makes it easily (by about £500) the most expensive Sora equipped bike out there. ...
