Help to find a Planet-X mech hanger

I have broken the mech hanger on my Planet-X SL Pro Carbon

I am desperate to get back on the road, but P-X are out of stock. Can anyone suggest where I might be able to get one from? I have looked on the BETD web site, but the only Planet-X one is, I think, for a different frame (I have emailed them but no reply as yet).

I believe the P-X frame is the same as a Massi, so would one of their hangers fit? If so does anyone know where I could get one?

Many thanks in anticipation :)

there's a load of betd ones on CRC but whether they have yours is another story

I recently swapped one off a Marin and I just went through all the designs until I was sure I'd found the same one as I had in my hand.

Don't necessarily look at the model names on the BETD site. Look at the shapes. Many models coming out of the Taiwanese factories use the same hangers.

I'm pretty sure the PX uses a #1 hanger. I'm surprised they didn't tell you when you asked for a replacement. I have a PX at home, if you haven't heard I'll take a look and let you know, but I suggest you drop them an e-mail, I've found them very good for replying quickly.

Cheers for your help guys. Craig at Planet-X replied to say they won't get more stock for 2 months! He suggested looking at Masdison's site and the "Wheels Manufacturing" pages and said I should compare them visually, didn't indicate which one.

My problem is I stupidly left the bike at my g/f's house, stupidly assuming it would be a simple matter to get one from P-X, so I have nothing to compare online ones with - we are planning an epic ride at the weekend so I was hoping to get one by then. I haven't got time to get over there before the w/e

If it is a #1 that would be very good to know, so I would be most grateful if you could confirm Oldnslow!

    Thanks again guys!

I have been checking out the possibilities, seems #1 is likely (as Oldnslow suggests) but also #33 which BETD say is "Similar to hanger No 1. Also fits some: Diamond back, Optima, Parkpre, Planet X, Shogun"

and finally, the Fire Eye hanger on CRC, said to be for the Firesky frame and the Planet X Armadillo. Looks ver much like the others.

Could it be these are all interchangeable, I wonder...

    Any opinions welcomed!

I suppose I could get one of each of the #1 and #33 from CRC and send the wrong one back.

OK.... had a look on the PX SL Pro frame. I appear to have a 147 or 96! http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=23926
    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=32467

These seem similar to the 57 but a mirror image http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=14794

I would guess it's between 147 and 96. The only thing to do is ring Chainreaction and ask, the two fixing holes need to be threaded for fixing to the frame.

Should you get hold of one let me know I'd hate to have to go through all this to find the number again!

    Best of luck

Sorry to hear this Alfa.... I was off my bike for two weeks with the exact same problem - fortunately no other damage done thank god.

I am sure you dont want to hear this, but I ordered two from Planet-X i.e. a spare, which I carry around in my saddle pack. I hope you find one (or two) soon!

    An update:

Thank you for your help oldnslow (you were right - see below), and for your kind thoughts felgen. And thank you very much for your help Dave@Planet-X.

Planet-X came to my rescue, they managed to find one for me and it arrived last Saturday. I also got a Wheels Manufacturing one, the WMD096 - this fits perfectly, so I now have a spare as well.

Special thanks to Ray, Andy, Craig and Dave at Planet-X for their combined efforts to get me back on the road. Whilst it is a shame they had none readily available, I can only praise Planet-X for the help they gave me, they are a very rare company that takes such good care of its customers.
