Cantilever Brakes (on Seven Cycles)

I was doing a cyclesportif yesterday and as usual was taking lecherous, envious looks at other peoples bikes.
I noticed a few people with titanium Seven bikes - looking very new and shiny. Two of them, curiously, had what to me looked like old style Cantilever brakes on the rear rather than dual pivot as I'd expect.
Is there any particular reason why someone would spec these? I thought dual pivot were standard now on pretty much all road bikes. Something to do perhaps with mudguard fitting or options for fitting racks?

Cantis are still standard kit on many touring and cyclocross bikes, because they allow wider section tyres to be fitted (and mudguards too).0
