Chain skipping problems (Rohloff hub)

I looking for some advice to solve a problem I am having with my new chain skipping after replacing a worn chain ring and chain set.
The bike is an Orange P7 but now fitted with a Rohloff SpeedHub. I’ve replaced the front ring with a new single speed ring and fitted a compatible 1/8 chain. As a result of these changes I’ve had to replace the original Rohloff chain tensioner with a Surly Singleator but kept the original Rohloff back ring as that is a lot newer than the front ring and there’s no sign of wear. Everything is now set up and aligned.
Unfortunately when I ride and apply any torque the chain skips. Where should I start looking first to fix this?
Although I can fix most things on my bike I’m no expert on any of this so feel I could do with a few pointers.
Cheers

chain alignment? correct tension?
pictures would be good.
also what is the chain?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Thanks. The chain is Connex 1/2" X 1/8" and the chainring is a Specialites Alize Track 52-130.
The alignment seems spot and the chain and rings seem to mesh well. I think I've put as much tension in the Singleator as it will allow. There was quite a lot of slack in the chain but no way I could take another link out.
Here are some pictures showing the back and particularly.

looks like you could take a few links out tbh
your rear sprocket might need replacing"we're a forum of pointless upgraders, depreciation maximisers, and diminishing returns addicts"0 -
i would also set the tensioner up to press up."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Definitely can't take out a link. I tried tonight and I can't get the chain over the rings if it's 1" shorter.
If I have the tensioner push up it would foul on the chain stays. I reckon the only way to have finer adjustment on the chain length pre-adjustment might be to have ±1 tooth front or back.
I think I've manager to increase the tension in the chain so I'll try that tomorrow. Post beer and rubbish film that is.
Thanks.--

if you are still having probs look at fitting a half link to your chain."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Sounds like a good plan. Are they widely available? I've tried a couple of suppliers with no luck so far.--

The chainring sounds too big (track 52- 130) sounds like a 52t 130mm pcd 5arm spider setup to me, the Rolhoff speedhub has a max chainring size of 38t.
You may not have chain/ ring issues there, it may be torque issues with the hub. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.0 -
38T is not the biggest front cog but they do suggest Minimum ratios. The sprocket ratio on the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 (e.g. 42/16) converts the slow rotational speed at the crank into a fast rotational speed at the sprocket and reduces the input torque for the Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 in the same proportion. To prevent overstraining the hub, a minimum sprocket ratio of 2.35 must be used. With the available
sprockets these minumum ratios are achieved by: 40/17, 38/16, 36/15 and 32/13. This resembles a derailleur transmission of 22/34. Larger chainrings can be used without exceptions.
still needs looking at.
is the chain skipping or is the hub slipping."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

With a bit more tension in the chain everything seems to work fine. I realised that I could squeeze a bit more out of the Singleator and, for the moment, all seems well.
I need to give it a good try out now I think to see how it holds together.
I think the recommendation to take out 1/4" is a good one though and I'll look into this.
Thanks for all the advice.--
