Numb Foot

Hi all,

Have been experiencing a strange phenomenon on my bike. Started to worry me last night during a club APR training ride. My left foot is going numb. I've felt this slightly before only on long rides 2 1/2 hours or more. My foot will get numb but will come and go. Now last night it was numb after about 15 minutes. Was racing so putting in a big effort. Stayed numb for the rest of the ride.

Could it be shoes too small or something else? Seems weird it's only one foot.

Cheers

Shoe to tight? Must be something restricting blood flow hence the numbness

I've had a similar thing recently, so last night I adjusted the cleat. It must have moved slightly over time. Hopefully that's sorted it.

I had this problem but only with the outer part of my foot starting with the three smallest toes. I found the problem to be hard skin that was placing all the pressure to one side of my foot.

Remember your swell when they get hot. So you may need bigger shoes. Also once the metatarsal on your foot becomes inflamed - it stays inflamed, thus tjhe reaction will come on quicker next time.

Bigger and wider shoes solved it for me. I also now use gel inserts under the ball of my feet when cycling - and have started using girly foot cream !!!
