Hi all,

Just wondering if my Rockhopper Pro '09 could handle any jumps; nothing big just a foot or so? I know full suss are probably more suited but I'm just wondering how tough it is for the money?

Thanks :)

    Your fine doing light jumps or drops.

    But don't expect the kit to hold up to DH levels of abuse.

    TBH as long as you keep it smooth, should be no problems...

    Rockhoppers are actually quite tough. You should be fine.

    Jump's drop offs and tabletops - all no bother on the Rockhopper - Landing right is key!

    But remember it's an XC bike not FR or DH so it's not going to handle big jumps all the time!

    I used to throw my old Hardrock SS (conversion) off everything around 1-2ft,the rockhopper should hold up well on small stuff,like others have said its down to the landing.

    I still ride my 06 hardrock around the xc loop at innerleithen and never miss the drops on the caddon bank...the biggest is about 4 feet, but as said...land it gently (easier on a nice steep tran) and it will be fine.

    Thanks guys, XC = Cross Country but what are DH and FR bikes :?

    I'm 17 stone and bought it to get fit & lose weight so I won't make a habit of it but it's nice to know it can handle a bit of abuse should the occasion occur, I'm not as brave as I was a few years ago so won't be intentionally jumping, but some of the areas I'll ride, or hope to anyway, [like around Keston/Bromley/Selsdon] can be a bit bumpy :oops:

    Thanks again for the info :0)

    DH = Downhill
    FR = Freeride

    I batter mine, throw it off everything, just try to land smoothly and it'll be fine
