currently own a Scott Speedster S40 that comes with a stock Truvativ TOURO Road (52/39) http://www.spadout.com/p/truvativ-touro-2-0-crank/ crankset that includes a Truvativ 07 Bottom Bracket 68/108.

Now my question is....Can I install an SRAM Force Carbon Crank and GXP BB?

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

yes as long as you get the correct cups for your frame.

you will need different tools to remove you crank arms and powerspline BB to what you will need to fit the GPX cups.

it is also highly recommended to have the bb shell faced (or at least checked if it needs facing).

The bikes only about two months old, what would constitute a new shell facing job. Im new at this so thanks for the info.

  • I know what tools I need for the SRAM Install but what do I need to remove the existing crank and BB.

    8mm allen key
crank puller and top hat bung
an ISIS BB socket and big adjustable spanner

    undo crank bolts
put top hat bung into axle
pull crank off with the puller (which pushes against the tophat bung)
use socket to undo BB unit (driveside clockwise, non-driveside anticlockwise)

clean up the threads on the BB shell, then fit the new c/set
