It's not even June yet, but with such a fine selection of candidates it would be a shame not consider your nominations now for the most irksome and vile characters of 2009 who have cheaed us, insulted our intelligence or simply committed the crime of being a celeb of no talent - what ever takes your fancy:

I'll go first:

Michael Martin - for services to MPs on the make

It was a toss-up between him and

Fred The Shred
Gordon Brown
Sir Tom McKilop

Come on - get it out, get it off your chest.

+1 for Thatcher - for planting the sapling of free market excess that grew into the tree of sub-prime excess that uprooted its own bloated shallow-rooted self and fell, scattering its Goodwins and its Moat-cleaning leeches all over us.

Her mausoleum ought to be a dance floor with a urinal so that those who wish to pay their disrespect have the choice she always said we should be entitled to.

special prize for the 62 year old curmudgeon who is accused of scattering tacks on the Etape Caledonia course. When it comes to spite, old fella, you should think it and occasionally say it, but that is as far as it goes.

Do I get a prize for hypocrisy? :D

Still has to be Richard Littlejohn. He hates enough stuff in the world. Why not reciprocate it once in a while? He's one of the most horrible people I've ever come across on telly and in print.

    The Queen!

For not knowing that pretty much all of her "subjects" want rid of the current government, or at least a say in who is in place. She has the power to dissolve parliament and call an election, so why doesn't she???

    Gordon Brown
    David Cameron
    Robert Peston
    Fred the Shred

All came a close second, but Her Madge just sits there letting it all happen. She must see that the country as a whole is getting angrier and angrier.

okay guys why Fred the Shred? All he did was negotiate a decent package out of an incompetent government minister. You can't blame Fred for that.

And as for Infamous voting for Lilly Allen :x You leave my Lilly alone, she lovely (even if she is young enough to be my daughter

Because there has to be an election anyway before 3rd June next year, and it would be remarkable if the current government leave it anything like that late.
Mrs Windsor (I live here so I no longer have to treat her like a foreign dignitary) knows that MP's expenses are, in the grand scheme of things, pretty trifling. Having an election in the middle of the media frenzy would mean the next parliament would be based not on how people want the country governed but on how much their local MP claimed in expenses which is all well and good this month, but will look increasingly like a huge mistake in 2 or 3 years time.
Far better to let this go away (and it will when it stops selling papers in about a weeks time as something else comes along) and have the election in a few months anyway.
It's also far to close to the local/EU elections next month to fit a general election into the same ballot, and if there is one thing the UK electorate hate more than expenses, it's having to vote. Twice in 2 months would see nobody turning up.

Joseph Fritzl is a loveable rogue compared to lily allen.

Ugly, fat, talentless, ugly, can't sing, bingo wings, ugly, weird fking thing on her head (she claims its hair?!?) and she's only famous cos of who her dad* is.... proper stars like Zoe Ball and Liza Tarbuck must be fuming when they see Lily Allen in the paper.

*And who is her dad anyway? some nobody actor who was in shallow grave.... brilliant.

Gordon Brown, but he's been top of my list for a lot of years.

Has no clue about finance or economics, yet pretends he's the world expert. Sure, the recession is global, but the UK is gonna get kicked the longest and that's mostly his fault.

And he lies. And has started to believe his own lies.

That just smacks of scapegoatism to me. For the MPs to turn on him so quickly, after it was they who made the claims in the first place, smacked of double standards.

I'm not saying he's blameless, but it takes two to tango.

Back to the main subject: my most hated person of 2009 - the media. Okay not strictly speaking a person, but what they did with the Jade saga was diabolical and a sad epitome of Broken Britain and the cult of celebrity.

The same way everyone else does. I find the real truth about them on the Internet. Then I start hating them. Far be it from me to try and give someone the benefit of the doubt before I deem them suitable to "like" or to be my friend. Any hint of impropriety is enough for me to slander, cast aside, and / or run their name into the dirt. This goes for any friends, potential friends, and acquaintances.

So much hate in the world!
Its a bad enough world and a difficult enough time everyone for me to waste my time hating people, I just ignore, then its not a problem.

Is there no love in the world anymore? Suffering from credit crunch blues? Hate is a pretty strong word to use aginst someone. Most people mentioned here haven't really done anything, yeah they might be a bit annoying, but if you don't like them, don't listen or watch them. Simples.
But not wanting to come across as a hypocrite I do dislike Gordan BROWN and his mob, especially Jackie SMITH. I disagree with everything he does and says. He's so out of touch - it's unreal. He has no charisma and the policies Labour come out with effects me daily, especially the tax in my pay packet at the end of each month! :(
