Hi I'm wanting to replace my gear cable as I seem to be having problems with my middle gears, 2 things really is it worth changing to xtr cables, and if I do how do you fix them to the bike frame as my frame is designed for open cables, hope this doesn't sound to stupid,
thanks Gillyboc.

any good stainless steel set up will do as well. but the XTR is pre cut to length.

the same way as they are fitted now. into the stops

    http://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=113 might help a bit.

At the moment the cable as 4 outer cables of various length that locate in the frame,If I get the xtr only the start and end would be fixed, my rear brake cable as places on the frame to allow it to be clipped but not on the gear cable,
    thanks gillyboc.

If you can not physically fit full outers onto your frame then you will have to run them as they are, either cut new outers to length, or, use existing outers with new inners.
