Hi there guys. Have a slight problem that the usual tightening etc hasn't managed to sort out. I decided to take a video as it's probably the best way to show you guys, as my explanation would be terrible.

Would be grateful to know what the problem is here. Thanks in advance guys.

P.s - Yes. I am a bike mechanic noob, dreading that it will turn out to be something really easy to do!

DO you just need to adjust the headset?

I can't see if the actual cup is loose.

Yep headset needs tightening (had to do the same thing the other night on mine after servicing the forks).

If you know what you're doing ignore the rest.

Loosen the 2 stem bolts (the horizontal ones). Gently tighten the one in the stem cap at the top (vertical one). Rock bike, if it still feels notchy tighten a bit more, if not turn bars, does it feel gravelly of stiff? If so loosen top bolt slightly. Repeat until bars turn silky smooth and the knocking has gone away. Then (and this is the bit I forgot to do  ) tighten the two horizontal bolts to hold it all in place making sure the bars abd wheel are lined up correctly.

In my defence I did intend to come back and tighten them with a torque wrench, just erm forgot (again  ).
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result
