Rear Suspension Help Please

Hi there.
Some of you on the forum will be aware that i am in the process of upgrading my 09 FSR XC COMP. The front forks are on order and, once they are fitted i am going to be saving up to replace the X Fusion 02RLA rear suspension that came with it.
Now, i am aware that on the FSR XC PRO model, there is a custom made Fox Triad II on there and i have also found out that this is not available to buy anywhere..... I have heard that this was specially made by Fox for Specialized and has lead me to think that only certain rear suspensions are going to fit.
The X Fusion 02RLA that i have on at the moment is "Custom tuned for Specialized, Rebound adjust with lock-out, 7.5x1.75 inch, 2 bearing upper shock mount". Now, i assune that the 7.5 x 1.75 inch is the dimension of the shock which come in at 190mm x 46mm. Does this mean that i would be able to fit a Monarch 4.2 with 190mm x 50mm which is available here http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?PartnerID=79&ModelID=22400??????????
If not.... what are my options as i have no idea whatsoever!

The 50mm may be a bit too much. it will up the travel by about 12mm which may casue conflicts.
Owt wrong with the O2?0 -
Hello again supersonic.
Yeah, at the moment there is nothing wrong with the 02. Its a very very good shock. The upgrade that im thinking of isnt going to be for a while im just wondering what would be compatible for when i do upgrade.... and there's so many good shocks on offer at the moment that its tempting.
So, an increase in 4mm (46mm on the O2 and the 50mm on Monarch or Fox Float RP2) would equate to an increase in travel of about 12mm?
As i said its not something im doing anytime soon as i've just ordered the front forks following your advice...... but, to get more of an understanding of components etc i was wondering what would fit, and what needs to be looked out for (bushes and how it fits to the bike etc)
Thanks again2013 Bianchi Vertigo Carbon with Campagnolo Zondas

The levaerage ratio of the system is about 3:1, so that small increase in shock stroke will equate to just over a cm in wheel travel. May invalidate warranty or cause the wheel to strike part of the frame.
The fitting kit does depend on the shock, and of course your frame - ie the distance between the shock mounting plates for the top hat reducers, and the pin that runs through. Best is to contact a spesh dealer and simply let them do it all!0 -
it may also cause linkages to foul and fail. it will also raise the bb and steepen the head angle (presuming the rear sus can actually extend to allow fitting)."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Just go into a specialized dealer and buy a Fox Triad if you;re that desperate to change the shock.
They will sell you one0
