Which one do you prefer to buy. Both are geat brands and are well made. Are you an Assos die hard......or would you be tempted to buy Castelli, I just bought one of their Prologo jerseys which are in an internet sale at the moment at £40. Not bad quality.

I would agree, there are no finer shorts on the market !0 -
Assos Bibs are the tops (heh heh, see what I did there?)
However I think the tops are starting to get a bit too Star Trek for my liking. (I tried on a gilet yesterday and it was like I was going to Canal Street in a camp homage to Darth Vader).
I love castelli styling on all their kit. I have quite a few castelli bits. Very good quality and very nice on the eye...0 -

I have both shorts and find Castelli shorts more comfortable. I also prefer the Castelli jersey designs too.0

if i knew what the Kiss+ extra padding seat pad or the AC seatpad lookd like/ what it is made of or if there was a test between assos pad and castelli pad, i might consider castelli. for now im staying with assos except for the waterproofs which are a mixture of goretex, endura & pro. i dont get the stevie wonder/ star trek connection with assos.0

I have used the AC pad.......its OK, but not in the league of Assos. However, the Castelli jerseys are very nice0

I wonder just what's supposed to be so wonderful about super-expensive shorts. I buy most of mine at the York CTC Rally (I got a pair of Polaris bib shorts for a fiver last year for example and they're great) and find them perfectly comfortable. Perhaps I'm blessed with a cast iron bum
I've never had a problem on rides of up to 250 miles (400k) so I don't really see the point of paying an arm and a leg (or two? ) . My rides are generally rather less than 100 miles these days but that's because of chronic shoulder pain rather than anything a better pair of shorts might help.
I think it's mainly BS.
GeoffOld cyclists never die; they just fit smaller chainrings ... and pedal faster0 -
Geoff you are perfectly entitled to your opinion. If I could cope with £5 bibshorts I'd be even more of a happy man!0
