Chorus ergo malfunction
I have just replaced part of the cable casing for the rear deraileur and now find that the ergo lever and button wont engage at all, it moves but there is no click and I have looked but I don't see the egaging mechanism that stop s it from returning to the point you started from, any ideas anyone, race prep is now looking a bit ropey , thanks in advance.
I have two hours to get it done and no shops to get to.
There was no perceptible problem before I fixed ,ha ha , it.

How old is the lever? Loss of clicks is often down to a worn G-spring or ratchet housing. Check that the lever hood isn't fouling the lever. Try a blast with some WD40/GT85 in case something's causing it to stick.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

The hoods are two years old and never dropped but I just realised my friend opened his car door a week ago and the wheel caught in the door and the bike fell but on the other side as their was no worry about the rear deraileur, I bought the bike second hand and have never touched the hoods in a year and a half, you might say I should have but there was no perceptible problem. I have fitted a new lower grade ergo this afternoon as I knew that nothing would have me airborne for tonight and I had to ride just to finish the race. I ran very well for a man with 70 miles in his legs in 5 weeks, so everything is swell with the world except for my leper ergo.
Like I say there was no problem till I took the cable out today and then bang I was dead to the racing world, stress but it ran very well when my friend adjusted the gears tonight.
