gripshift and lock on grips

i recently tried sram x0 gripshift and loved it.How do lock on grips work with it.Do they have to be cut down? :?:

    You have to buy short length grips.. only certain manufacturers like cane creak do them

    i used to use propalm ones form ebay, put propalm into the search and they make stubby grips which are uber comfy but a touch pricey.
