Chain keeps coming off front ring - Help required
When I am changing down the rings at the rear in preparation for a quick desent, I keep finding the chain keeps coming off the front of the front big ring. Is there any easy adjustment I can make being a novice to stop this or is it something I need to get my LBS to look at. I have degreased to chain so that shouldn't be the problem.

change down more slowly, if you dump the gears really quickly the the excess slack generated from the smaller ring can flip forwards and cause the chain to come off the big ring.
Possibly worth checking the chain length and for stiff links.0 -
is changing to the larger chainring a little slower and less direct than before. Could be a case of a stretched cable which may need a little adjustment. you could also try setting your low limit stop screw try here for some tips:

Check the front changer end stop.
With the bike on a stand or elevated, turn the pedals and change the fron by pulling on the cable under the down tube and not using the changer. If it comes off when going to large ring the end stop needs adjusting.
If the end stop is correct it should not come off no matter what you do with the rear gears as the fron changer should stop it coming off.0 -
Where does the chain come off? Is it coming off from below or from the top? If my suspicions are correct then moving the stops wont make a difference as it is due to chain slack.0
