Had my R9 six weeks now with no problems at all. It was either this or the Orange five AM. Glad I went for the Remedy 9, the extra weight and price £300 for the Orange could not be justified, with the Trek’s better components as well this won it for me on paper alone.
As for the ride it can’t be faulted with some xtr spd its still only 29lbs, climbs as good if not better than most XC. Downhill as you can imagine is fantastic, with the new Talas 36’s and full floater it rides excellent across any terrain.
For me It does everything I hoped it would do The ‘all mountain tag’ is fully delivered and deserved.
Only advice would be, its takes a little time getting the setting just right, once dialed in correctly you’ll be well away. Also get a pure racing adjustable seat post, awesome, for the price and better than Joplin.0 -
whichever fits best.
what have you tried so far?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

For that money you should defo be considering a custom build!

I love my custom 5750

What type of riding do you intend to do? The Remedy 9 has a lot of cushion that you might not need.
Similarly, the Cube R1 might not have enough...0 -
I do a lot of XC around the south bucks area but i want the full sus to hit Afan and Aston hill.0

Then your talking about a Blur LT.....09 - Santa Cruz Heckler
03 - Trek 8500
95 - P7 (Dead, but I loved it)
Year dot - Alpine Stars CR300 - Still going strong...0 -
Second the E-120 XT - its a great lightweight bike, and can handle the trail centers at Afan etc, but must also be the fastest bike I've ridden.0

It always amazes me how many people ask what mountain bike to buy without specifying what they want it for and how many people answer without knowing what the OP wants it for!
All I would say is that I could do with a Scott Spark for racing, a Giant Anthem for XC/Marathons, an Orange 5 for All Mountain, a Commencal for downhill,,,,,I could go on.Commencal Meta 5.5.1

So you're looking for a bike exclusively for trail centres (are you planning on mostly downhill runs, or just trail centres in general?), or will you be looking to use if for the XC around South Bucks too?0
