How much for a bike from UK > whistler?

Well I say Whistler, I actually mean Seattle which isn't far. I've got my Cannondale out there at the moment and when I returned to England Delta were going to charge me $300, and fedex the same. I can't believe that it costs that much to take a bike on a biking holiday! And I just left it in the end as I dind't have that much change in my pocket. So my question is, how much have people paid before or would expect to pay for such a haul? Someone told me over the weekend £90 max....

yeah tried to pack it down as small as poss - the box I used even called for the rear mech and brake mount to be taken off to get it all in. Took me two hours of singing tetris to myself...
Seems like others have got it a lot cheaper than I found0
