I love my bikes and biking wether its freeriding in country side or urban and Dh too also trails, but when im off my bike say walikng to shops i think about bikes what new parts to get, what colour matching parts to get, how to do drops wheelies etc and perfect them. When out and about im looking at things, i think could be a challenge and fun to ride then i look at best lines to take, all this in few mins as im walking past hehe :D some times is see nice set of steps and i take a moment longer too look and think "hmm this looks good ,if i took this line down or i could clear that and land in bank off steps".
Ive even been wearing bike cloths like have long sleev Marzocchi 888 top and 661 and Saint beanies, id have more but im always getting parts..

If i had the stamina of animals, i would be riding every day / all day on me bike, i just love riding.
I have even used skive off work to ride on me own or with mates on sunny and hot days, i dont want be stuck in, i want to be unleashed on me bike.

So im only one with this sickness.
I don't have a bike addiction problem.....bikes seems to have a problem with me.....it just can't seem to stay on.

  • Its been medically proven that riding mountain bikes releases happy endorphins called mountainbiketoids which engulf the brain with happiness and a general sense of euphoria, once you have experienced this for the first time your brain craves the natural "high" over and over again !!! - yours sincerely doctor freerider !

Yep, had a great ride last Sunday and just couldn't concentrate at work all Monday morning because I was thinking about bikes. I'm sure Tuesday will be the same.

Unfortunately, there are downsides. If too many of these endorphins flood the brain, it often results in the house being full of bikes and bike parts, and a distinct shortage of money.

I think posting on a mountain bike internet forum "am I obsessed with mountain bikes", well, obviously you are or you wouldn't be posting on a mountain bike forum. "My name is Northwind, and I'm a bikeaholic. It's now been... 9 hours since I last rode a bike"

  • I have this ailment too. If I'm not out on my bike, I'm in the garage messing about with them or taking them apart!

If not on the bike I imagine myself riding it. walking over things as if I'm on the bike. I also look at other parts on bikes etc going past. I used to ride my bike to the shop 30 seconds away

this is fine. if im not riding im thinking aobut it, or tinkering, looking at new stuff, thinking how to get my bikes perfect, or if im walking in the street/country start seeing lines i could take.

all perfectly normal things to do!!

i think i have admitted this before but i spend tonnes of time looking after my bikes an buying or fetling parts whereas my mates all have bike shaped objects and never touch them with a spanner.

doesnt seem fair that i spend a fortune on my kit but the lads with cheap horribles never have to lift a finger!!

im dan, im a bikeaholic, i havent ridden a bike for 11 hours.

I definitely have the bike disease. Mines worse though - mountain bikes, road bikes, MX-enduro, motorbikes, spares, clothing, upgrades... The list could go on and on and on....

Damn disease, now what was I gonna upgrade next...

See, I was lucky, the motorbike obsession virus weakened for just long enough for the mountain bike virus to jump in and knock it out completely. Don't think there's space in my life or my wallet for both

Alas, I too am afflicticted with this terrible condition. I haven't ridden today, but I practised trackstanding in the kitchen on her hardtail, and I am wearing a Primal Wear top now.

I confessed my true feelings to my womaaaaauun, stating "all i think about is bikes." Word of advice, never , ever, EVER say that to your ladies (or blokes for the girls or 'diverse' amongst us).

But what can you do about it? Rides like this don't exactly help 'cure' me of my chronic addiction....
