Hello Im thinking about getting my second bike but cant decide which one to go. Not sure about the difference between Orbea Fleche 08 and 09 (Asphalt and Aqua). Who could give me some advice? Thx very much!

Only obvious difference in the spec is that the asphalt appears to be a triple crankset and the aqua is a double.

Asphalt is the old entry level Orbea frame and Aqua is the new one. I can see any difference between the two frames. I'm sure Orbea will claim the Aqua is better as it's new but TBH I doubt any of us would notice the difference. The spec of the 08 and 09 Fleche is almost identical except for the chainset. The 08 is a triple and the 09 is a compact double. If you're happy with a triple then you may be able to find a good deal on the 08 bike.

I have an Orbea Fleche 09 and it uses the Aqua frame. When I ordered the bike the front mech was upgraded to a Tiagra and the rear was upgraded to a 105 for no extra cost. According to the blurb all of the components would have been Sora.

I've since replaced the wheels for some Shimano RS20's. I reckon I have probably covered around 1200 miles on it so far.

I use mine for commuting and have had no issues with it at all.
