Well today i bit the bullet and ordered myself a GT ID5 IDrive XCR from Halfords for £799...cant really go wrong with the 20% off. Been looking at the spesh FSR XC comp but cant get that kinda discount and the Boardman FS comp just didn't feel too special.

So gonna change the saddle, grips and peddle's anyhow but thought(with the saving)i might bling up some other bits. Thought maybe...

Charge Spoon, Kona Cowan Logs & V8's. and maybe...
Race Face Deus XC Stem, bars and seatpost.
All of that comes in at £180.

Not sure about the Maxxis Ignitors and may swap them too.

Any thought's on where best to upgrade? (or leave as is)

The Boardman FS Comp does ride nice once its set up right. The rear shock needs a lot of attention to detail or it does ruin the ride. As you say at £799 you cant go wrong with the GT although like you say i would be looking at doing some upgrades asap. The main part i would be upgrading first would be the Avid Juicy 3's. They aint as responsive as you would like. I have set them up and bled them many times but they always feel too 'spongy'. I still have the Avid Elixir R SL's on my Spesh and im lookin to bin them sometime soon. Time to swap to a nice set of Hope's or Magura's for me I think. :D

Have a look at Wellgo MG1 pedals - are nearly 200g lighter than V8s, and better bearings too.

Tyres maybe worth changing to lighter miodels, but apart from that I'd leave it (well, maybe saddle and grips to taste).

Not sure the bars and stem combo will be any lighter or better than what you have - weight them first.

Wait til you've ridden it  Contact points do usually make sense to tweak, OEM spec pedals and saddles don't tend to be very good, particularily as manufacturers know so many people just replace them. I'd stick a Charge Knife and a pair of MG1s, and a pair of Lizardskins Chargers on it before I rode it, probably.

But other than that, wait and see.

My Juicy 3s are great, 2 year old never needed a bleed, great power and feel even with 160 rotors.I'd see how you gt on with them first before you decide to upgrade these.

Yeah i've seen varying reviews on the juicys so i'll give em a good few miles before i make my mind up on changing them. Did'nt want to make major changes straight away really.

MG1's look great and i'd not come across them before...they dont seem to be widely available but i found some at Merlins.

I knew the bike was slightly heavier than most before i ordered it. I'm not really expecting to shave much off it cos i'm assuming the frame itself with all the idrive gubbins is fairly portly...wheelset and tyres maybe down the line a bit.

Surprised you want to ditch your elixirs, just put a set on my trek and they are awesome, feel way better than the hope set on my mates orange 5 pro

I wouldn't change the Ignitors if I were you. They're a great all rounder and I swear by them in all except the deepest mud.

I cant get on with them at all. Ive never been a fan of Avid's. I need to change my rotor size anyway so its a good time for me to ditch them. I like brakes that bite hard rather than the spongy feel of the levers that ive always found Avid's to have. Ive already bled them to see if they get any better and ive only had my Stumpjumper Elite '09 for just under a month. :?
