Has anyone ridden the Time Speeder?
In the midst of all the clamour about the Giant TCR Advanced and Wilier Mortirolo following the C+ Bike of the Year Test, this otherwise forgotten bike sneaked into second place - and follows on from a glowing review last year.
I am looking for a bike to match my ambitions in the big UK Sportives and to do a London to Paris event. Having ridden a titanium bike (Sabbath Silk Road Pro), the amount of flex I got out of the frame when accelerating has firmly steered me towards carbon, despite the plushness of the ride otherwise.
The problem is, I'll be damned if I can find a Speeder, particularly in a frame small enough, to test.
Had a quick go on the TCR Advanced 3, which was a hoot - a stiff bike that wants to be ridden fast yet seemed to have a reasonably well dampened ride - and the Cannondale Synapse 105 Carbon, which again was far stiffer than the Sabbath, with a ride quality somewhere in between it and the Giant.
So - any comments on the Speeder?
