  • A mate of mine did it last year, said the run was a tad on the undulating side.

We do it every year as a team: I ride, they run. Its a full tilt hard tail 15 mile sprint with only two hills to mention, sandwhiched between two 3 mile runs. Great atmosphere but not at all technical.
And thats just why I like it. Nice chance for some of my less athletic friends to join in while the rest of us rinse our thighs to the core.
Picnic by the river afterwards. . . very British what?

Hmmmmm not sounding like quite the challenge i was hoping for. I guess the fact that i'll be doing the running AND the cycle may make it a bit tougher.

I know part of the route as i goes between Pangbourne and wherever down the canal path, i've ridden some of that section on Mountain High rideouts...

Sorry Weeksy, I hope it didn't sound like I was running it down, its just that the ride isn't really a technical one if you are used to stuff like Gorrick and the such. Its still a really well put together event and worth every penny.

Several of my mates do both runs and the ride as you are and find it very tough. The run sounds pretty arduous heading straight uphill at the start. There's a guy who wins it each year who finishes in a phenomenally fast time; hard as nails and much admired.

Lots of families take part so start practicing your shouting now, "Rider on the left, coming through. . .!"

    Enjoy
  • You`re sounding like top 10 material Weeksy :) Have a good one. (It`s the second run that really hurts) Paul.
