Hi there

Can anyone tell me if all Michelin Pro race 3 tyres have a grey band in the centre of the tread?

I've ordered black black and presumed they would be all black?

Or have they sent me black/dark grey?

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. Mind at rest now.

How do you guys rate the performance of the tyres?

    Cheers

    +1 grey in the middle

top tyres. Very supple, especially with latex tubes.

I was going to ask about these tyres as they are supplied with my new bike. Glad they are good..... saves me some cash in replacing them

Bum info from me here. I obviously thought the had a grey centre band but when I got them out the other day they have a charcoal centre band, almost black.

I can't fathom this one out myself, both Ribble and Probikekit show photos of the black tyres with grey centre bands. :?

They're definitely not the "Light" or "Grip" versions.

Pro Race 3s and 2s for that matter are excellent all round tyres. Some people say they cut up too easily but I have never found this to be the case.

Just get great grip and puncture protection, and they feel lovely and fast! Does it actually matter if they're black or grey in the centre?

Great tyres, but yes they do cut up easily....then again its more noticeable BECAUSE of the grey section in the middle.
I've recently moved to Conti 4000s but havent fitted them as yet, but I hear the chilli compound is supposed to be very effective in puncture resistance, without compromising performance.

I'm sure you'll be riding on Pro Race3s again after choosing the GP4000s' ...

I've been using Pro 3's for about a year now.
I started with the black ones and had great results with them and only one puncture.
I've now fitted some red ones and had two punctures within a couple of weeks.
Probably just coincidence or the colouring may make a difference?
Yes they do cut up but them so do most tyres, it also depends where you ride.
If they do cut up just use a drop of super glue (Loctite not pound shop specials) and it'll hold for ages
