Hi

My friends and I are all keen cyclists. We all commute daily on single speeds and are out on weekends on our road bikes.

I'm trying to organise a day out bashing around on mountain bikes for a bit of fun. Does any one know where I'm able to hire bikes from for the day? We're ideally looking for somewhere with a good surrounding areas for riding as well.

We're all confident on a bike and our fitness is pretty good so we're up for something challenging.

Hope you can help

Cheers

J :D

Kinda of depends where you are, or where you want to ride.

I know there are good cycle rental places at Coed-Y-Brening (mid to north Wales) Llandegla (north Wales) and Afan Forrest (South Wales).

Try your local cycle place, some of the bigger ones have a small demo fleet, you can usually have something for a day for free or a small fee. Also google "bike demo days" you can just turn up with with credit card and some id and take a few different ones out to see what you fancy.

You can hire a Giant XTC4 for £30/day at Swinnos on Cannock Chase. Follow The Dog is in great condition at the moment and there's loads of trails in the area.
  • North Yorkshires Dalby Forest has a cycle hire and shop called Purple Mountain. Bikes range from £15.00 to £35.00 depending if you have them for half or full day?
They are mainly Kona Hardtails but they do have full suspension Kona and Yeti.
There are some cracking trails for all levels and the roads around Dalby are very good for road bikes too.
  • Cheers guys. Will sound the others out about these. We're based in London so it'll have to be a crack of dawn start with the car but that's ok. 8)
