It's been a long time indeed since I've last been on the saddle and I need to start out again. I've got a buget of about £350 and and been thinking about getting a Cerrera Banshee, but I'll be honest I am behind the times in terms of understanding the spec. My riding is mixture of road/off-road but mostly off road. Would this be a good bike to get or could anyone advise on other possibles.

It is a very heavy full suspension bike - good value, but do you need all that suspension and weight? From what you say, posibly not, and it would be a slug on the road!

Have a look at the What Hardtail guide for some options.
  • True I had been thinking about the weight. I think something lightweight but durable is what am after. I don't jump off cliffs or anything so all the suspension would be too much I think

  • Just been looking at the GT Aggressor XC 3 as apposed to the Avalanche 3.0

I think this might be a bit better maybe for my riding style and I want something light

Perfectly resonable for the money, though I prefer the Carrera Kraken for that money.

Have a sit on them, a ride around the car park - see what feels best.
  • Yep just checked out the Kraken and that looks good too. Like you say come the day of the race it'll be down to whatever feels best between the bikes mentioned, cheers for the advice though as I am heading in the right direction now for my new machine. :)
