It must be over 27 years since i rode a TT.
There is a club TT on Tuesday night, so just to mix up and add some variety to my training, thought i will give it a go.
No aero kit, just a sportive bike with a 52 ring.
So the big question, how low will i go If i get below 30 mins i will be happy.
Any offers?

Heh Howie. Good luck!
I did my first TT yesterday (also with no aero kit) It was 25 miles. I did the first 10 in 31 minutes. 20 miles 65 minutes. The last 5 took me 18 minutes
It was quite a breezy day and my first TT so all in all not to bad and at least I now have a target to beat next time
Towards the end my head (and legs) were screaming at me to stop but there was quite a sense of achievement once I'd finished. I'll definately be doing it again along with a few 10 milers as well.
The first 10 yesterday came up pretty quickly so if I were you I'd just go for it. I think you have a Garmin? If so keep an eye on your heart rate making sure that you're working hard and try to push as big a ring as possible whilst keeping the cadence up.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.0 -

Have never done one myself ( ) but they look dead cool. Some of the dedicated bikes are frightening - like a knife blade. 8)0 -

Did my first one last week, 27.34 in the wet. Went hard but reckon I could get sub 27 without too much fuss. hopefully sub 26 by the end of the season0

All the best Howie - metcheck says it should stay fine so 28:42 would be my guess.0

Ooh it was tough.
They didnt say it was a hilly course.
And the wind, it was breezy tonight.
The plan was, got out hard for 8 minutes with HR in Zone 2. Rest for two minutes in Zone 1, hit Zone 2 for another 8 minutes, rest for two minutes then flat out to the finish.
Well it may have been nerves, excitement, adrenalin, but i went itno Z2 and Z3, and the HR just stayed there. Oh my word the legs burned.
Anyway, missed the 30 minutes, slightly diasppointed, but i did a 31:28.
Considering the course and the conditions, i will take that.
