Front brake rubs when I turn the handlebars

My front V brake rubs slightly when I turn the handlebars towards full lock. As far as I can tell, when I turn the bars to the left the left pad rubs visa versa for the right.

The cable doesn't seem to be catching on anything. It seems worse after I've already braked. E.g. say I braked hard to avoid a rock and then turned hard to go around it, it would be particularly noticeable.

Does it happen only when turning to the left or the right , have you shortened the cable???

Yes only when turned fairly far to the left or right. Otherwise they work fine.

    I've not shortened the cable.

Whenever a wheel is turned on ground, lateral forces are applied to it which cause the Rim to warp - this much is inevitable, but tends to be less of a problem in really well built wheels. Factory wheels tend to see this more, as the spoke tension can (and will) get less over time.

Suggest taking your wheel into a shop for a 'true', although specifying that really, what you want is the spoke tension checking (tightening).
