Went to the Doc today to get the result of a scan I had for a shoulder and arm injury I did about 5 weeks ago.
I have been signed off work until the 1st May and visits to the physio, so no more running a riding until then even though I have been doing It up until to day.

I am already banging my head against the wall  and the wife says she Is dreading the next couple of weeks so shes In a mood.

Know how you feel mate - just got back on my bike after a month off after dislocating my knee.

I set myself a target to learn a few new skills when i was back on the bike as a target / motivation to keep resting because if i hadnt rested, i would have made the injury worse.

hope it sorts itself out ok.

It's 2 hole weeks, I don't normaly go 2 days without running or riding.

I am setting up my commuter fixie on the turbo trainer In the lounge as we speak, but the Mrs has caught me and she Is not best pleased, so It might be the shed for me.

I've got some knee problems, so I've been told to keep it rested, and lose 5 stone.
I'm not sure how I can achieve both!

Well me and the Mrs had a little chat, and I have been banished to the shed. That makes It even more boring as there Is hardly any room In there with all the bike stuff and benches (8x6 shed) so you end up with your face about 6inch away from the wall, ok for 30-60min but I was planning on going for longer as I can't go out.

Actually, I've been wondering if that's what the doctor was thinking... how to lose weight and stop my knee bothering me in one fell swoop!

I really do symathise with the OP though, I've been housebound for just under a fortnight, and I'm already going mental.

Sound to me the only option you have Is swimming.

I don't think I could swim at the moment even. I can barely walk, and am in pain after driving for more than a couple of minutes. :(

You might find that once you are In the water and the weight Is of It, It might give a bit of relief.

It's your shoulder - do pedal or run with your arms?!

I have dislocated mine about 20 times - doc once told me not to surf for three months. 1 week and 5 days later I was back in the water.

As for the knee problem - that's sounds like a tricky one...

I don't have a problem with running or riding I have been doing both without a problem right up to now, It's just being spotted doing them while I am signed of work (small Island everyone knows each other) I am thinking of getting some cheeky runs In very early In the morning.

2 weeks? I was off the bike for 5 months when I dislocated my ankle! Apparently I wasn't a fun person to be around.

There's always someone worse off out there, 3 in the ward that I was on and there were only 7 of us!

Do as your physio says, do the excercises at home too, and the two weeks will pass and you will be fit again. In time for the glorious summer that is owed to us.
