Was just indexing my gears and discovered that some of the teeth on the outer chainring look to be worn a lot worse than others. Only have 5-6 hundred miles done on the bike. Is this normal that they should be so uneven or what could be causing it to happen. Does it really matter???
Thanks

Is there a pattern to it?

Some of the teeth are a different shape for a reason - to aid shifting. You will get one every 3/4/5/6/7 teeth. So when you shift to the small ring, you should notice a slight delay as the chain reaches one of the diffently-shaped teeth, especially if you're in a massive gear and, therefore, pedalling slower.
