Upgrading Fulcrum 7s?

Just bought a Cannondale SystemSix with stock Fulcrum 7 wheels and find them a bit weighty and dare I say unresponsive on the climbs. Ideally I'd go for a pair of Ksyrium SLs but finding it hard to justify the price.
Any advice on a lightweight wheelset for a 250 - 350 quid budget??
