Tyre with no tube
Hi all,
I got a bike from a friend and was a bit puzzled when trying to pump up the attached tyre which I couldn't do (there was no air going/staying in). I then took the tyre off to choose a new tube and discovered that there is only the tyre with no tube. The tyre was glued to the wheel.
Any idea how I can clean the wheel from the glue and what tube and tyre I will need as replacements.

Many thanks in advance for replies.

that is a tubular rim, you cannot fit a clincher tyre with a tube - it will only take tubular tyres which have the inner tube sewn inside it...0

ok thanks softlad. I never come across these.
How can I found out the size I need and how do I clean the rim? Any ideas?

I'd save yourself some hassle and get cheap replacement normal (clincher) wheels + tubes + tyres. Tubs are IME a PITA (gluing them on takes a lot of care and punctures are a pain). Unless you're riding on the track I don't see any advantage tubs have over modern clinchers.0

yeah, I'm coming to think the same plus I live in London and have punctures on my other bike all the time.
Thanks to everyone who replied anyway.0
