Anyone using this? I have uploaded my first route today and it seems great. Great way of logging your progress

What is the difference if I upgrade? Is it worth it? what benefits are there?

PS

Anyone in Sunderland area??

  • I've just downgraded my account because I stopped using MotionBased in favour of Ascent/Rubitracks/Trailrunner. The principle of ride logging is great but after trying the others it became apparent how clunky Motionbased was - plus at nearly a tenner a month at current exchange rates, it's an expensive way to do it.

Those 3 packages mentioned are all great, and registration from demo to full versions is about $40 - I'm on a Mac though - I think the Windoze equizalent is SportTracks, equally good I understand.

    Cheers

Does anyone else use GPS to log training? If so, what do they use? Any useful tips?
  • I've just started cycling and am currently using my Nokia N95 phone with Nokia Sports Tracker software, which links in to the phones GPS.

Their website seems pretty good but I've not used any others, so have nothing to compare it to.

I currently put my phone in my back pocket of my jacket and it still gets a pretty good signal, though I did manage to stop it halfway through my most recent ride and didn't notice for 3.5 miles.

Motionbased is in the process of being made extinct and everyones` accounts are being migrated to garminconnect so if your device is already compatible you might aswell use that.
You can only store ten rides on motionbased at a time, for free ,I think it is limitless on GC.Not sure though, have a look at the MB forum, that has all the info.

Quick question about the 605 / 705 do these auto scroll through the map as you ride?

Yes ... at least the 705 does.
