first time buyer

hi all brand new to the mtb scene which is why im here, i need some advice. ive got £1000 to spend at halfords only, and i fancy a mtb. theres two i like the look of at the moment:
boardmanfull suspension mountain bike team 09
Boardman Mountain Bike Pro 08

are these boardman bikes any good? which one is better for a begginer like myself?

    boardmans are regarded as very good bikes.

    you have avery healthy buget and a choice of 2 very nice bikes. most folk will say you should buy a hardtail first (lord only knows why) but there is no reason why you shouldnt start on a full sus bike.
