I've currently got a Giro E2 that's a few years old, but is a snug fit (medium). Neither a Giro Atmos or Ionos in medium will fit. My head is approx 58cm. I'm wanting to go mail order on a Bell Volt, but still can't really get to grips that my head is classed as large. It doesn't look large!

I wouldnt go mail order really - hellmet fit does vary a bit and its far better to try one on.

+1. The Giro and Bell also use designs for different shaped heads. Giro generally fit round heads better and Bell are more for narrow shaped noggins. I have a Bell Sweep R which fits my pointy head perfectly but most Giros are like torture devices for me. This is just a generalisation so best to try them on. Looking at some other brands you may find something that works for you as well.

I would also look at Catlike helmets. Look cool but more importantly the fit was fantastic when I recently tried one on. I currently have a Giro Ionos so cant justify it, but next time Id get a Catlike Whisper
