Issues with Endura Custom Clothing

Has anyone had any issues ordering custom colthing from Endura recently? I place an order over 4 weeks ago and despite constantly chasing them for some final artwork I can't get any :x . The website advises that artwork is turned around in 1 week with a production time of 4 weeks so I was expecting to have them next week. They also have a substantial deposit off me at the moment.
To make things worse I have asked for a couple of other big companies to quote for the job but none of them have come back to me!!! Is this what I should expect and am I being unreasonable?
Please let me know.

Called them and emailed them. Keep getting apology and being told it will be with me either later that day or in the morning at the latest.
I need the kit in 6 weeks and am not very confident I will get it.

In my experience clothing companies are generally appauling when it comes to service or meeting deadlines. I have experienced the pain of the annual order for club kit at three different clubs with three different suppliers and not once did they manage to send the right thing at the right time.

Hi TiBoy. Although you can only go by the information you are presented with and you have allowed plenty of time before you need it, unfortunately you're trying to get some kit made at the busiest time of year. Over 50% of all custom kit orders are placed from Jan-March and 4 weeks is very hopeful at this time of year. Still, If this is what they quote, then the least they should do is let you know there is a delay.

Thanks, I would be quite happy if I had been told there would be a delay of 4 weeks but to be given deadlines that they cannot meet is not a great experiance.
From Simon's comments it looks like it is the norm, anyone want to open a company that cares about customer experiance????

done that too. Had a nightmare ordering club kit through Vermarc a few years ago and began to wish we had never switched from Impsport, who had always been pretty good.

My current club is about to place a big kit order with Endura, hence my interest....

A quick update, have now got my artwork and have been promised delivery by 1st May. I will let you knwo if it arrives. Cannot say that this has put me off them but just be prepared that you may need to either wait quite a while or chase regularly when they are busy.

We have just received our new club strip from Endura, but boy has it been hard work.
Not a small order either, c. £8K worth.

Nearly three weeks late, missing items (still), broken promises etc..
Problems all the way from ordering, through manufacture to despatch.
    We're saying 'never again'.

    Best of luck!

Sorry, I'm new on here and don't want to break any rules, as I do have a vested interest in this subject, but the guys at Foska now do custom kit although it is just jerseys, shorts, bibs at the moment. Lead times are certainly more than 4 weeks at this time of year though.

A few discussions and e-mails today with Endura and I have (fingers crossed) got a promise of delivery by 1st May, going by what Steve is saying I may be a little dissapointed. Its the broken promises that are the issue. If they know they can't deliver why can't they just let us know? I would sooner have a realistic, long, date...
    Will let you know

Out of the last three custom orders our club has placed, only one has been on time. That order was Santini. Their minimums are quite high, but if you can order with them, you should. Everything was on time and surpassed expectations. Most of the team have never had any clothing as good as the Santini clothes, and it's really not too expensive.

The saga continues. To recap, I placed an order with Endura on 16th Febuary for some team clothing, after weeks of chasing I got some artwork and a delivery date of 1st May. Unfortunatly only 1/2 the order turned up. Was advised thay had run out of material and would be another 2-3 weeks. No problem our charity event is not until 20th June, in the mean time had placed another order with them (why!!!) with promised delivery date of 12th June. The rest of the initial order did not arrive, lots of e-mails no replies, eventually get a date of 12th June for everything. Nothing arrives, a quick phone call assures me everything will be delivered on 17th. Amazingly I get an delivery this morning...... Still missing the rest of the order placed in Feburary!!!!!!!!!! The quality of the kit is good but I can't recommend them unless you are prepared to call/e-mail alot and place your order with plenty of time (unfortunatly for me 4 months does not appear to be enough)

  • Our club has just switched to Kalas. We used to have Endura, and I have to say, having got kit from both, the Kalas stuff is better.
. The quality of the Kalas stuff is superb, and the colour match they did to the old kit is really good.
They also sent out a sizing sample box to us. The shorts are really top quality, and my new wind-proof - turns into a gilet - jersey is very spangly.

That's not to say the Endura stuff is crap, it's still pretty good & good value, and sizing is more "british" than kalas, but the 3/4's were too short by default, and the shorts a bit too long, with a non-optimal fit on the front of the bibs (a bit baggy).

    Mister Biscuit,

how much did your Kalas gear cost? I've been to their site but they don't publish their prices (how bizarre is that?). I dutifully created a design and sent it in, but two weeks later and I've still received no reply.

If you can tell me approximately what you paid for set up and subsequent per-jersey price, I'd be most appreciative.

I did call them when I was looking, they were a bit more expensive but not a lot than Endrua. The thing that put me off a bit was that there was only a mobile number and the guy answered it with a "hello" and not the company name, he did not know the exact prices and gave me an approximation. On the other side Endrua were extremly professional when I 1st called, it all went a bit wrong from then on though.

    quick update..

our Endura order is now three weeks overdue and counting......this is despite several 'guarantees' that the order will be delivered "tomorrow" and at least one promise that the kit had indeed left their premises on the van and was on its way. Was it fvck....

Another update. I left the company that I worked for and who were kindly paying for the kit. I spoke to someone who was dealing with the kit after I left and Endura appear to be just as bad for collecting the money except they kept chasing even after we had paid and they would not send a correct invoice. The only good thing is that the kit is very good, it's a shame that the rest of the experiance was really really bad. Will definiatly not go back or recommend them.

Got another update today and the saga goes on, we called to pay the balance last July pretty much straight after the ket had eventually been delivered (ordered 7 months before on a promise of 8 week delivery). My mate at the company has had a call from Endura chasing a big chunk of money as it looks like they forgot to process the payment when we called in July. It is just comical, if they could sort out their customer service they would do very well as the kit is great. Are they still as bad a year on, I think they proberbly are which is a shame.

Another issue with Endura - we had serious issues getting them to confirm artwork, and then confirm the order in November/December. This is after they messed up a summer order delivering two times later than they said they would. We had hoped they'd pull their finger out this time as we've had several years of orders through them. Looks like we were overly optimistic...

If you are prepared to take any dates given with a pinch of salt big enough to keep britain going through the winter and happy to do a bit of chasing, the kit is possibly worth it. Just keep in mind that when you have got your kit and paid you still may get a very snotty call from them (not the nicest people to owe money to) chasing you again, turns out they shreaded the piece of paper they wrote the payment details on when we called by accident. They admitted this but were not too apologetic with it. We do want to order some more stuff and will be using their artwork to go somewhere else and have stopped buying off the peg endura now out of protest, shame but they are not having any more money from us.

I feel my experience of Endura Custom Clothing may help, especially as I received the clothing last week and paid the final amount today. (I need to make clear I have no allegiance or link with Endura, I chose them because I used them for clothing 12 years ago when they were TAL)

I sent a clothing design to Alan Blue at Endura on 13th January 2010. He turned the design around and sent me an artwork layout 2 days later.

After a confirmation of sizes using a sizing set they sent out and couple of small changes to re-position logos I placed the order on 26th Jan 2010 and paid 50% deposit. Alan immediately gave a despatch date of 26th March. He also sent me a link to their intranet site, which allowed me to track the order as it went through the stages of printing, sewing, heat treatment etc

I called Alan with 2 weeks to go and he said that despatch was still due for the 26th March. A few days later I called him to see if he could despatch a couple of days earlier as my first race of the season was 28th March and it would be good to have the clothing for that race. The clothing arrived on 24th March 2010, 2 days earlier than originally planned..

The clothing was exactly as ordered, correct quantity and sizing the same as the sizing set. The quality is extremely good, certainly as good as some high-end clothing I have used before and better than my Specialized winter kit.

The only small issue was the size of one of the logos, which was difficult to determine on the layout, and certainly not a major problem.

Through the whole process communication was very good, they were easy to deal with and I would definitely use them again

got no issues with the quality of my Endura club kit - only the extended delivery time and broken promises. We just placed another order recently, so we'll see how this one goes...
