My chainrings were damaged in a vehicle accident and are now bent. I've tried to straighten them out but to no avail so I need new ones.

The pertinent spec of my bike is below:

Crank Cannondale EX2, 29/44
Chain 9-speed
Rear Cogs Shimano Deore 9-speed, 11-34
Bottom Bracket Shimano Octalink
Front Derailleur Shimano LX
Rear Derailleur Shimano XT

I've been looking for a like for like replacement for Cannondale EX2 but these seem to be hard to come buy as they are Cannondale bespoke and the chainring has an unusual teeth number i.e. 29/44 (5-bolt)

Has anyone any suggestions on a suitable chainring. I've looked at some websites such as Wiggle/Evans but the multitude of choices adds to my confusion. I'm trying to keep the cost down so if possible I would like to just change the rings rather than buying a whole new crankset as if I go down root I may need to buy a new bottom bracket etc.. I use the bike mainly for commuting although I sometimes change the slicks I have for a pair of nobblies and go riding off-trail. I also do road-cycling . I'm would like something to allow me to get up hills easier as I've just recovered from knee surgery and am easing back into cycling.

Cheers for any advice.
