How to make a 2 speed DJ bike?

I have always wondered if I could make a two speed bike. Just for simplicity. A slow gear and a faster gear. Any suggestions or am I just crazy.
I have a DJ frame in the mail and plan on building it up as a single speed but...two gears would be sweeter.
Thanks all.

surly do dinglespeed sprockets (ie just two) so if you choose the chainrings carefully then you can use one chain and just moove it over as and when.
Alternatively, if you've got ISCG mounts, hammerschmidt0 -
Thanks. Now should I still run a single speed chain on that or a nine speed for flexability?Who steals a seat...seriously?0

well i think the spacing is wide enough to take a singlespeed chain, but you'll probably struggle with the chainrings, so i'd recommend a regular 8spd one0

It looks like this ASP system on Fire Eye bikes might have enough adjustment to run two sprockets. The frame is in the mail so we will see...

I meant the spacing between sprockets, but now you mention it, i assume that is a standard 135mm rear spacing!!!!
Are you planning on using a derraileur, or just using manual shifting
The idea with the dinglespeed sprocket is your rear goes up two, so on the front you have two chainrings, the smaller being 2 teeth smaller, so you can get away without moving the wheel at all when changing over!0 -
buy a hammershmit crankset."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
