Garmin Edge 305 - Cadence not working
Just bought a another cadence unit for my Edge 305 to fit to a second bike, and cannot get the unit to work.
The red light flicks on as the crank magnet passes the unit but it does not seem to register on the computer unit.
Do both the speed sensor and the cadence sensor have to be working for the cadence bit to work or are they independent of each other.
The set up works fine on my other bike BTW
Any advise would be appreciated

They are independent,I think the cadence is a green light.Smarter than the average bear.0

If I remember correctly, there is a synchronisation procedure that you have to do when you first fit the second unit. There is a feature on the Edge unit to "find" the cadence sensor as well - have you done this? Haven't got the opportunity to check at the moment but does it say anything in the manual?
It does work though as I have 2 fitted on seprate bikesEach bike's details are stored on the Edge unit under different profiles.

Yes it does say something about "pairing" which I thought I had done, but only the red light (not the green one) appears to come when the crank sensor goes passed it. But still no reading on the Edge, so I would guess it appears to be a problem with the wheel magnet0

Sorted this morning, needed to re-scan to pick up the new cadence monitor.
Happy days0
