Wheel Truing Stand

I've always managed to re-true wheels on the bike frame, but thought it was about time I bought a truing stand, can anyone offer any advice in choosing one? Searching the web throws up the Park tools TS8 but in the pictures I've seen it looks quite crude and expensive, the other is the Minoura anyone have any experience of using either of these or do you have a preference for another?

I have the Minoura Workman Pro, completely happy with it and if I was in the position to buy again I'd go for the same one. The TS8 is very crude, but probably easily up to the job, I took ages deciding on which one I was going to buy as I usually go for only Park Tools. But again, the Minoura is a decent bit of kit.

I got a tacx one for £26,it clamps to the desk and does the job just fine.

I just bought the Minoura Wheel Tru Pro stand from DiscountCyclesDirect £70.46 last week I haven't used it yet. It appears well made and in the kit Minoura also provide a dishing tool and spoke key as well as a basic wheel truing/building guide. There is another other Park jig at about £250.

I noticed the Tacx unit on the Web this morning and also the Pedros Precision. Tacx seems to be widely available not so sure about the Pedros.

Difficult descision this, I don't like to scrimp on tools as you usually wish you had spent the extra and end up buying the more expensive one eventually, however it isn't going to be used that often.
