Following the F1GP thread, anyone else follow the Motogp?
I really hope Rossi does it again but I think it could be Stoner on the all new carbon ducati GP9. He has been going very quickly in practice. I think it should be much closer this year with a few of the electronic aids removed.

It's not fun anymore Rossi to win.

Last year was interesting, well at least the first half of the season.
Rossi, Stoner, Pedrosa and Lorezno all battling for the title.
Then Lorenzo and Pedrosa droped down, and later Stoner. :(

Hopefully, will see them without injuries this season.

Btw, I want Stoner to win the title. :D

Just a shame this season that the recession has affected MotoGP, what with Kawasaki pulling out and everything. The grid is looking a bit under-populated. :(

World Superbikes is already looking like THE series to watch this year with the new Beemers and Aprilias (on the podium already in their 3rd race!).

I'm just hoping for more of the same action we got last year - Laguna Seca was one of the best races in recent years until Casey binned it.

Kawasaki are fielding one bike this year. Marco Melandri riding for them, which sadly I dont think will amount to too much other than making up the numbers. But yeah I wish there was a way of getting 40 bikes on the grid like the 125's, which is amazing to watch (esp the 1st corner). I say bring back the 990's and ban any traction control! Full on powerslides were amazing to see.
I so hope Toseland can do some good this year, I think this could be his last shot at it in GP's if he doesnt do any good as the depth of talent in the feeder classes is enormous and thay are all about 12 years old!
All 125 and 250 races are live on Eurosport and the GP is on live on BBC2 and later recorded on Eurosport.

Gary McCoy used to do some awesome power slides, some vids on utube.
Going to try and watch BSB this year for some proper fairing bashing, scary stuff

Yup - since the early 80s. 2004/5 was the last good year. 2006 was a non-event, 2007 was dull, 2008 was processional, 2009 will be the same. The rules and regulations are suffocating the championship and making it increasingly irrelevant. Unless there is a real shake-up (unlikely) it will self-destruct in the very near future.

Love it, love Rossi and thought the first half of last season was superb.

Not keen on Stoner - he seems a bit 'detached' - but perhaps that's just his personality.

I'm a Rossi fan but want Toseland to hopefully mount a challenge sometime soon.

Rossi fan here, although again id like to see Toseland do a bit more this year :) And hopefully see Stoner crash. Also be nice to see what Hayden is gonna do on the factory Ducati this year.

Still prefer World Superbikes :D Especially that new Aprilia and the sound of the new R1 :D

I reckon stoner and Hayden will be close and i would also love to see toseland find his feet on a GP bike like he did on the worlds, he was awsome there !!!
Rossi is the king though and the new bikes could be bloody carbon engined and have rockets on them he wouldstill trash them he is raw talent and that takes beating

Rossi to win hayden or toseland second and would be nice for lorenzo in third

Sorry but I don't agree with you. :|

Rossi is good, I can't deny that, but Hayden?
The fact that he won a world title doesn't makes him a better rider, in fact he
won that title with pure luck that season. Rossi's motorbike had reliability isues that
season, and had a few crashes, so Hayden won with 1,2 or 3(how many?) wins that
    season.
And Hayden lacks constant laptime during races.

I think, Rossi, Stoner and Pedrosa are at the same level, and maybe Lorenzo.
Can't say really about where Toseland is because he has a slower bike.

No fence, that's my opinion, others may think diferent. :)

I love Moto GP and also WSBK and BSB.

Stoner and Rossi will be strong, maybe Lorenzo will have a good year. Toseland, as much as it dissapoints me to say will do nothing great and I can't see him getting a MotoGP ride next season.
I'm going to the LeMans round this year and wil probably make it to Donington, not much excuse for not as its only 10 miles from me :)

Afew years ago I bought a video of the AMA american superbike championship from the mid 80s that was absolutely mental . Top names like Eddie Lawson, Wes Cooley, Wayne Rainey and Kevin Schwantz swapping paint on bendy framed Z 1000s, GS 1000s and the factory Harley Davidson nicknamed Lucifers Hammer.

I say if you want good racing you should go back to evil handling tyre shredding bikes none of this nancy traction control and engine management

The B&B and the ferry are already booked for the NW200 havent been for a few years really looking forward to it.
Got a bit worried the other week when the 2 squaddies and the policeman got murdered but it didnt kick off like some people thought it would.

I think Toseland will step it up a gear this year - he has no excuses. He has the head mechanic he wanted on a bike the same as Rossi's.

Also the fewer aids will not disadvantage Toseland as much as most other riders, look back to his first year on the Fireblade in WSBK's when he had some of the best power slides ever seen. Only Rossi and Haydon can slide a bike better.

I've got money on Toseland having at least 3 podiums this season and finnishing inside the top 6 in the championship.

Rossi or Stoner for the championship.

Rossi has done enough to demonstrate he's a notch or two above those guys.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

these are the young guys coming up the ranks though who know's what they will have achived when they get to rossi's age
as for stoner he proved himself to be one of the best as he is only rider out of all the ones who have rode the ducati that can actually tame the beast melandri was shit scared of it last year
after the sepang test hayden commented 'he couldnt belive how unstable it is coming out of the corners'
stoner commented 'how much more stable it is coming out of corners compared to the previous 2 seasons'
