best budget hardtai Iron horse warrior 5 2008

Mate looking for a new hardtail can anyone recommend a better buy than Iron horse warrior 5 2008...£500 from evans ?

    Spec looks Ok,but its a bit of an unknown quantity.Have a look at the waht hardtail thread for other ideas.
    Gt Avalanche,Hardrock Pro,Genesis Core,Carrera Fury ,Boardman Sport are all other cotenders at this price point.
    What type of riding is it for?

    The 5.0 the red one with toras isn't it? We sell them at my lbs, (where they're 50% of RRP) One of the other guys rides one, they ride really nicely, front end picks up well, quite a light frame, good spec. Bars are pretty heavy, but everything else is solid.

    Not sure it's great for £500 as I'm pretty sure there are better bikes for that money.
