Probably a daft question but anyway here goes!!....

I am going to buy a new (QR, probably Hope/KCNC) seat clamp but the original measurements have worn off. To get the correct diameter, do you measure the diameter of the seat post itself or the seat tube?

Thanks

Have a look on your front mech, that should be the same size diameter

You measure the seat tube diameter

what bike is it, someone may know just by the bike.

Never thought of looking at front mech - thanks

Its a Spesh Hardrock (2007) that is going through various upgrades until I get a new frame to transfer the parts to.

This is the website I have been using:
    http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkMode ... anguage=US

It just says "Alloy micro adjust". Nothing about diameter. But had a look at rear mech and its 31.8.

Will probably be a 34.9mm clamp. but still measure with a vernier guague to be sure.

Havent got one of those - just a tape measure!!

But mech says 31.8 and it looked like 32mm on tape measure so I guess it is 31.8
