Seaside running What would you do to your rig for it?

I'm considering modifying my Carrera Full suss to hand sandy or pebby beaches after an attempt to ride in one last year made me face plant into rounded rocks of portsmouth . Anyone here know the perfect tire and fork for such terrain? Right now it uses a rockshox psylo with 125 mm travel

you would want a large surface area in contact with the sand/ pepples to reduce the cutting in that tyres normally do, but you would have to check how wide you can go or be more sensible and get off and walk! riding on beaches saps your energy quicker than having to watch the fantastic four films (god awful aren't they ;) )

Living on a Island I ride on the beach a fare bit, pebbles, rock and sand with not to much problem. My tyres are maxis Larson mimos and my forks are magura odur.

  • laminate the whole bike so it doesn't rust away in a week!

Wide tyres (2.35 or bigger) would help I guess.

Seaside running, what I'd do to my rig????

    Send it inland.

In all honesty, widest tyre you can fit, reasonably low pressure, big wide aggressive tread pattern, soft compound, keep the cadence high and wash very very very well after rides.

Thanks . I do have nearly new 2.4 tyres from my other bike than Ransom to fit on it . Will they work on lowered pressure?

If they physically fit in the frame give 'em a go, don't see why not.
