Bank Fraud

Just a warning. I have just checked my bank details and have discovered that £100 (Vodaphone Top-up cards) has been fraudulently taken from my account.
A quick search on another cycling website shows that quite a few people have had problems with a certain cycles shop in Preston.
It may be coincidence but I haven't used my card for a while and even rang up the "said Shop" instead of using the internet.
Has anyone else has had a problem

maybe coincidence, but i had a transaction for a phone service on my card sunday, it was spotted within 30 mins from barclaycard, have ordered from that retailer, maybe their records are not secure!0

Yes have seen the same happen, twice in as many weeks.
One of these was for Tesco Mobile.0 -
thats weird, i had a £30 prepay o2 out of my bank account on friday last week tho northern bank refunded it and sent me a new debit card. tho i use ribble, wiggle, CRC. cyclestore.0

I noticed transastions on my account this week. O2 prepay, tesco mobile and itunes. I use the usual suspects for cycle shps but also have had transactions with ENO, hotels, petrol stations so could be anywhere!
However assumng that the leak of details is at the retailer end is foolish - there are many places where these datails could be taken from.0 -

Good idea. But I didn't order on the internet I ordered over the phone.0 -
This is interesting. I've been defrauded by somebody a couple of weeks after placing my details with a Preston-based cycle shop and with one based in London. The person had all of my details, including my security number.0

My daughter works in a call centre where last week all staff received a sternly worded edict that mobile phones were barred from the work area. Apparently after entering credit card details on screen, some staff were photographing them on their mobiles.
This seems to mean fraud opportunities could be a bit routine if characters are displayed as they are typed - as they are on her system. Staff apparently would nver have time to enter data and scribble it down at same time, hence photos.Where the neon madmen climb0 -
I had a couple of hundred quid taken from my account from cash machines in India. The bank were happy to refund it, but when I said I know exactly where the details were pinched, they weren't interested. I hadn't used that bank card for nearly a year (returning to the UK for a holiday) the card reader on the bar in the pub didn't work, so the girl took my card to another reader, "in the office" and brought it back in a mobile reader which she held whilst I put the number in. Should have seen it coming.0
