after an overhaul of my brakes tonight i started tinkering and put my brake levers (juicy 3's) inside my shifters (Deore SL-M530 triggers). this means i can do one fingered braking which i've heard about, but i have to use my middle finger to flick through the gears.

is this a normal set up? i'm not taking it out for a test till tomorrow, but i reckon it will mean i can change gear easier when braking. once i get used to it that is!

use what ever feel best. there are no rules. except where it will not fit.

  • All depends an what feels best I always have my brakes on the outside, I think if I put them on the inside I would be all confused and stack it in a most inappropriate place haha.

General rule of thumb (no pun intended) down at the club/work shop is brakes outside or on top (matchhmakers) we won't advise/fit the brakes to the inside unless it's specifically asked for.
    I use all 9 inches.

gave it a try today, but i think i'm gonna swap it all back. it doesnt really work and i'll never get used to middle finger gear changing
