I need a new 8 speed shimano compatible cassette. St John Street Cycles have them in the ratio I want (12-25) Their website says it fits any Shimano HG freehub (as opposed to IG freehub) Are these MTB specific or will the HG fit my (standard ?) road freehub and the new 8 speed chain that I already have.
Two wheels good,four wheels bad

12-25 is a road cassette. It will fit any 8 or 9 speed Shimano freehub.

You could also use a 8spd SRAM cassette. CRC have 12-26 in stock.
